Guide to Public Holidays

What this tool is for

See the official public holidays of a country in a given year, with English and local names, so you can plan leave and closures.

How to use

  1. Pick a country from the list, which defaults to the region of your browser language.
  2. Set the year, then run the query.
  3. Read the holiday list sorted by date and note the upcoming-holiday highlight for the current year.

Worked example

Input
Country United States, year 2026
Expected output
The official public holidays for the US in 2026, such as New Year's Day and Independence Day, each with its English name and holiday type.

How it works

The tool calls the Nager.Date public-holidays endpoint for the selected country code and year, then renders the entries in date order with their name, local name, and holiday type.

Limitations

  • Coverage varies by country; some countries and years return few or no entries.
  • Regional holidays within a country may appear as observances rather than fully public holidays.
